Rotator Cuff
What is a rotator cuff injury?Your rotator cuff is a group of muscles and tendons in your shoulder that help you lift and move your arms away from your body. A rotator cuff injury can range from a mild irritation to partial or severe tears in this area, causing pain and limitations in range of motion and function.
Rotator cuff tears often develop gradually over time as the tendon undergoes wear and tear with age and use, known as a degenerative tear. Those aged 40 and above are most at risk for this type of injury. An accident such as a fall can also cause a rotator cuff injury. |
