Registered Massage Therapy
Massage therapy is the manual manipulation of the body's soft tissues such as the muscles, fascia, ligaments, tendons, joints and other connective tissues. Treatments are focus on areas of pain, discomfort, or stiffness with the goal of resolving the underlying issue.
Massage therapy is indicated for a number of conditions including chronic tension, stiff/painful neck, back, shoulders, sciatica, jaw pain (TMJ), postural pain, and much more.
The pressure applied is adjusted by the individual through continuous communication between client and their therapist. No two clients are the same, that's why each massage is tailored to your individual needs and preferences.
What should I expect?
After meeting with your therapist, you'll be taken to one of our private treatment rooms where your session will begin. Once there, your therapist will quickly review your medical history and health as well as any current areas of concern before beginning an assessment. This assessment may consist of range of motion, flexibility, muscle tenderness, and more. Following the assessment, your customized treatment will begin. A treatment plan as well as any prescribed exercises or stretches will also be taught following your treatment.
What makes us different?
Our massage therapy is focused on rehabilitation - recovery from an injury or from chronic pain or ongoing discomfort.
Though relaxation and stress relief are still a component of our massage therapy sessions, our massage therapist is focused on recovery, healing, and injury prevention.
We often tell our clients that our massage therapy sessions are different from conventional massages and involve various elements of stretching, soft tissue work, mobilizations, and targeted muscular activation.
