Function Physiotherapy is here to help you eliminate your aches and pains stemming from a number of conditions. Below is a list of just a few conditions we frequently help our clients with. Please note that this list is nowhere near exhaustive!

Low back pain
Low back pain, or lumbar pain - Pain, stiffness, or discomfort in the lower back. Pain can be intermittent or constant, acute or chronic. 
Sciatica
Pain affecting the back and going down the leg, glute (buttock), or hip. Caused by the irritation of a spinal nerve.
Neck pain
Pain, stiffness, or discomfort in the neck. Pain can be intermittent or constant, acute or chronic. 
Headaches
Pain perceived as arising from within the head which can originate from the neck (cervical spine), muscule tension, poor posture, and stress.
whiplash
An injury of the neck caused by a severe jerk of the head, typically resulting from a motor-vehicle accident (MVA).
Post-concussion syndrome
Symptoms following a concussion that may continue for weeks, months, or a year or more. Symptoms may include headaches, dizziness, difficulty focusing, light sensitivity and more. Learn more...
vertigo/b.p.p.v.
A sensation of whirling or room spinning and loss of balance resulting from crystals becoming dislodged in one or more of the various canals within the inner ear. Learn more...

Vestibular Neuritis

sports injuries
An injury acquired in the act of playing a sport. Often related to muscles, joints, or soft tissue such as ligaments or tendons.
running injuries
An injury acquired while running or from running improperly and/or without proper technique. Learn more...
post-fracture/cast
Pain and stiffness resulting from temporary immobilization such as being in a cast, splint, or boot following an injury or fracture (broken bone).  
tendonitis/tendonopathy
Inflammation or irritation of a tendon, most commonly from overuse or sprains. Examples include MCL, LCL, PCL, ACL, and biceps tendonopathy.
strains and sprains
Injury or irritation to a tendon or ligament resulting from overuse or overstretch. Most commonly occurs in ankle, shoulder, elbow, and wrist. 
repetitive strain injuries
Pain felt in muscles, nerves, and tendons caused by repetitive movements and overuse. Common examples include achilles tendonopathy, rotator cuff injuries, golfer's elbow, and tennis elbow. 
golfer's elbow / tennis elbow
Repetitive strain injury to the muscles of the elbow/wrist found by the inside aspect of the elbow (medial epicondylitis - golfer's elbow) or outside aspect of the elbow (lateral epicondylitis - tennis elbow).

rotator cuff injuries
An injury to the rotator cuff of the shoulder - a group of muscles and tendons that surround the shoulder joint, keeping the head of your upper arm firmly within the socket of your shoulder. Most commonly supraspinatus tendon and biceps tendon. 
frozen shoulder
Extreme stiffness or immobility in the shoulder joint, usually following an injury and caused by the inflammation of the shoulder capsule. Most commonly affects women aged 40 to 60. 
plantar fasciitis
One of the most common causes of heel pain. Plantar fasciitis involves inflammation and irritation of a thick band of tissue that runs across the bottom of your foot (plantar fascia) and connects your heel bone to your toes.

TORTICOLLIS
A condition sometimes occurring in newborns and babies in which the head becomes persistently turned and/or tilted to one side. If left untreated, torticollis can lead to further conditions such as plagiocephaly (flat head).

MUSCLE tension/pain 
Tightness of a muscle which can result in decreased range of motion, lack of flexibility, spasms, cramps, and pain. 
developmental delay
An abnormal delay in the acquisition of gross motor skills (sitting, crawling, walking, etc.)​ during a child's development. May or may not be due to prior conditions.
